A series of 8 short videos for a total running time of 33 minutes.
Assignment C1: Introduction
1:57 minutes
1:57 minutes
Day in and day out, people enter Dr. Jennifer Jill Schwirzer's office with the same problems. So, she decided to boil those problems down into what she calls "the 7 deadly psychological sins," which are: Criticism, Complaining, Self-Pity, Worry, Avoidance, Emotionalism, and Bitterness. These aren't moral sins per se, but they are things we do that sabotage ourselves, hurt other people, and can ruin our relationships and our lives. They are the common ways in which we simply "dysfunction."
Each video starts with an explanation of the "sin" (the problem behavior), to which a positive, healthy "replacement behavior" is explained for a solution. It is futile to just point out problems, there needs to be positive replacements for our problem behaviors. Learning healthy replacement behaviors will help you maintain that positive mental attitude which is needed to succeed in your therapeutic lifestyle change.
