I also understand and agree that as an OptiHealth-certified Medical Missionary serving as a Health Ministry Volunteer in any OptiHealth Program at any SDA Church or School that:
I further understand and agree that:
- All Health Ministry Programs of the OptiHealth Network are informational and educational programs and are usually conducted by certified OptiHealth Volunteers at a local Seventh-day Adventist Church or School.
- The goal of every OptiHealth Program is not only to reduce the prevalence of chronic lifestyle-related disease, disability, and premature death among church members and non-SDAs in the communities surrounding each local SDA church, but also to share the love and power of God and His Son to transform hearts and health behaviors by faith.
- When the recommendations of any OptiHealth Program are put into practice,by any participant, the results will include therapeutic lifestyle changes, disease risk reduction (and sometimes reversal), and a higher quality of life.
- OptiHealth Programs are NOT a forum in which any specific disease or medical condition is diagnosed or treated.
- Many who participate in OptiHealth Programs will be in a state of deconditioning, overweight or obesity, and may have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood glucose or type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, and a variety of other medical conditions and disabilities.
- Many of these health problems may improve while a person is participating in an OptiHealth Program, but the focus of every program is strictly on education and behavior change, and not on treatment of any kind, other than lifestyle modification according to each participant's free-will choice.
I also understand and agree that as an OptiHealth-certified Medical Missionary serving as a Health Ministry Volunteer in any OptiHealth Program at any SDA Church or School that:

- I am especially encouraged to share my experience regarding: foods, food preparation, exercise, sleep, and personal daily devotions as these are the primary educational components of the OptiHealth Choices program.
- Simple foods simply prepared are the foundation of a healthful lifestyle, and I will limit my discussions regarding food to selecting, storing, cleaning, cooking, baking, and eating healthy foods based on my informed experience.
- I further understand that I may share recipes and food samples, but if I want to conduct a food demonstration, I will need to get prior approval from the supervising Health Ministry Leader of the OptiHealth Program at the SDA Church or School.

- I am encouraged to discuss general health and spiritual issues that are consistent with the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy with participants individually or in the small groups to which I have been assigned as a Program Helper.
- I am especially encouraged to give my personal testimony by referring to Bible promises and EGW counsels to help explain or emphasize how God provides power for personal therapeutic lifestyle change, especially in the cases of strong temptation.
- I am NOT to discuss in any detail any of the distinctive SDA doctrines during the OptiHealth Program, either individually or in small groups.
- If I want to be involved in the sharing of the more distinctive teachings of our SDA Church during an OptiHealth Program, I would need to get certified through the OptiHealth Institute as a "Present Truth Gospel Worker."
