We are an independent Health Ministry Support Service for Seventh-day Adventists. We believe the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy teachings on health and temperance to be the right-arm of the gospel. Through a personal experience of therapeutic lifestyle change by faith, we can live and share the practical healing and saving power of Jesus Christ.
Testimonies, Volume 7, page 62:
We have come to a time when every member of the church should take hold of the medical missionary work.
  • The world is a "lazar house" (hospital) filled with victims of both physical and spiritual disease.
  • Everywhere people are perishing for lack of knowledge of the truths that have been committed to us.
  • The members of the church are in need of an awakening, that they may realize their responsibility to impart these truths.
  • Those who have been enlightened by the truth are to be light (truth) bearers to the world.
  • To hide our light (truth) at this time is to make a terrible mistake.
The message to God’s people today is:
  • "Arise, shine; for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1)
The OptiHealth Institute is a health and gospel education and training resource for SDA Health Ministry Volunteers who want to help each other learn, apply, and share the Adventist Health Message as the right arm of the Gospel for the healing and saving of suffering and lost souls in these last days.
We use the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy as our knowledge base and implementation guide.
  • The words spoken to Israel are true today of those who recover health of body or health of soul. "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”” (Exodus 15:26)
  • The desire of God for every human being is expressed in the words, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2)
  • He [God] it is who “forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies. (Psalm 103:3-4)
  • Medical missionary work is the pioneer work of the gospel, the door through which the truth for this time is to find entrance into many homes...Nothing will open doors for the truth like evangelistic medical missionary work. This will find access to hearts and minds, and will be a means of converting many to the truth. -- Evangelism, 513 ​
  • The Lord would have His people come to Him for their power of healing.​ He will baptize them with His Holy Spirit and fit them for service that will make them a blessing in restoring the spiritual and physical health of those who need healing. -- Counsels on Health, 301 ​
  • There are many ways of practicing the healing art, but there is only one way that Heaven approves. God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature that will not tax or debilitate the system through their powerful properties. -- 2 Selective Messages, 287 
What are these "simple agencies of nature" ?
  • Pure air, sunlight, temperance (self-control), rest, exercise, proper nutrition, the use of water, and trust in divine power, these are the true remedies. Every person should have a knowledge of nature's remedial agencies and how to apply them. It is essential both 1) to understand the principles involved in the treatment of the sick (and prevention of disease), and 2) to have a practical training (personal experience) that will enable one rightly to use this knowledge. -- Counsels on Diet and Food, 301 ​
Let the church arise and shine (experience a spiritual revival). Let every family practice self-denial, doing all they can to improve their own (health) condition (through personal health reform).
  • Those who are truly on the Lord's side will be self-denying and self-sacrificing.
  • They will eat and drink to the glory of God, refusing to corrupt soul and body by intemperance.
  • Then the (physical and spiritual) condition of the church will testify that her light (truth) has not been removed.
But if church members do not act the part God has assigned them, the movement of health reform will go on without them, and it will be seen that God has removed their (personal) candlestick (Holy Spirit) out of its place. Those who refuse to receive and practice the light (truth) will be left in the background. -- A Call to Medical Evangelism, page 45:
The Saviour in His miracles revealed the power that is continually at work in our behalf to sustain and to heal us. Through the agencies of nature, God is working, day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment, to keep us alive, to build up and restore us.
When any part of the body sustains injury, a healing process is at once begun; nature’s agencies are set at work to restore soundness. But the power working through these agencies is the power of God. All life-giving power is from Him. When one recovers from disease, it is God who restores him.
Sickness, suffering, and death are the work of an antagonistic power. Satan is the destroyer; God is the restorer. (John 10:10)
The Certification Courses available through the OptiHealth Institute were developed to teach SDA health ministry volunteers how to work in harmony with the will and power of God to bring true health and healing -- and spiritual revival -- to a lost and dying world.
